Youth Entrepreneurship

NCEDC, Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Simcoe County District School Board, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, Alternative Learning Centres, NT Temps Inc. 

Goals:    

Provide support and experiences for youth in hands-on entrepreneurism  

  • Ongoing liaison with all South Simcoe high schools and (public & private) adult learning centres and alternative learning providers to offer support, tools and resources for their entrepreneurship programs 

  • Ongoing delivery of the South Simcoe Youth Business Plan Competition 

Status:     

The Nottawasaga Futures Youth Business Plan Competition is open to all South Simcoe aspiring entrepreneurs aged 29 and under. This program is dedicated to supporting youth entrepreneurship in our Region. The competition celebrates the development and research of a business idea. Participants formalize their business concept in writing and pitch it to a panel of local business leaders.The 2021 Youth Business Plan Competition and Pitch Night were cancelled due to the COVID – 19 Pandemic.

In partnership with FOCUS Community Development Corporation, we are delivering the Becoming the Boss Youth Entrepreneur Training program. In 2022 we had 5 participants.
