Goals:    

Provide support and experiences for youth in hands-on entrepreneurism  

• Ongoing liaison with all South Simcoe high schools and (public & private) adult learning centres and alternative learning providers to offer support, tools and resources for their entrepreneurship programs 

• Ongoing delivery of the South Simcoe Youth Business Plan Competition 

Status:     

This project leverages the partnerships, tools, and resources developed by Nottawasaga Futures to impart knowledge, skills, and support to local area youth. The program aims to guide youth in developing and operating successful businesses through one-on-one counselling mentorship, and group sessions. 

In partnership with FOCUS Employment Services the, Becoming Your Own Boss program assists at risk youth to develop and eventually operating a successful business through one-on-one counseling, mentorship, and group sessions.  Nottawasaga Futures provides assistance to the participants both during and beyond the scope and duration of this program.  In 2023– 2024, there were 5 participants in the program.
